Daphne: 10 a.m.—A parade will start at Daphne City Hall, followed by a ceremony to honor veterans.
Bay Minette: 10:30 a.m.—A parade will start at Bay Minette Intermediate School and end at the eternal flame on Courthouse Square. A brief ceremony will be held at the eternal flame, followed by a program at the Korean War Memorial at the Bay Minette Public Library.
Robertsdale: 11 a.m.—The George P. Thames Senior Center will host a Veterans Day celebration. Veteran Rusty Champion is the guest speaker. A pot luck lunch will follow at noon. A dance will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Mobile
6 a.m.—The two area chapters of the Vietnam Veterans of America will conduct a brief sunrise flag-raising ceremony at the Lower Alabama Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Battleship Park. A program celebrating the 10th anniversary of the memorial’s dedication will follow.
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.—The Gulf Coast Exploreum Science Center is offering free admission for any active duty or retired military person and one guest. Simply show a military identification card from one of the following branches: Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard.
10 a.m.—The annual Veterans Day Parade will be held at 11 a.m., beginning at the Mobile Civic Center, turning onto Canal, then Broad to Government to Claiborne and ending at the Civic Center.
Noon—The veterans appreciation luncheon will be held at Fort Whiting Auditorium. Officials said the event is sold out.
3 p.m.—A Freedom Celebration with a parade of flags by area schoolchildren will be held at the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park.
7:30 p.m.—A free Mobile Pops Band concert will be held at Battleship Memorial Park.
